Upcoming Government Exams & Notifications (Second Half of 2026)

The second half of 2026 is packed with major government recruitment exams across the SSC, UPSC, banking and railways. Here is a quick roundup of what is confirmed and what is still tentative, so you can plan your applications and preparation.

Dates marked tentative are from published calendars and can change — the official notification on each body's website is always the final word. Track live notifications and results for each of these on our listings.

SSC — CGL is out, more to follow

• SSC CGL 2026: the notification was released in May 2026 for a large number of Group B and C posts (around 12,256 as reported — confirm the exact figure on ssc.gov.in). Tier 1 is tentatively scheduled for the August–September 2026 window, with sectional timing now part of the pattern.
• SSC Stenographer 2026: notified in April 2026, with the computer-based exam expected around July–August 2026.
• SSC CHSL and SSC MTS 2026: notifications are expected around mid-2026; official vacancy numbers were not yet published at the time of writing, so ignore unverified figures.
• SSC GD Constable: the next notification is expected around September 2026, with the exam likely slipping into early 2027.

UPSC — Civil Services Mains in August

• Civil Services (CSE) 2026: the Prelims were held on 24 May 2026 and the result was declared on 15 June 2026, with 13,343 candidates qualifying for the Mains. The Mains exam begins on 21 August 2026.
• CAPF Assistant Commandants 2026: scheduled for 19 July 2026.
• NDA & NA (II) and CDS (II) 2026: both scheduled for 13 September 2026.
• Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Mains 2026: scheduled for 22 November 2026.

Banking — IBPS provisional calendar (SBI awaited)

IBPS has published a 2026 calendar but explicitly notes the dates are provisional and may change, so treat all of these as tentative:

• IBPS PO 2026: Prelims tentatively on 22–23 August 2026, Mains on 4 October 2026.
• IBPS Clerk 2026: Prelims tentatively on 10–11 October 2026, Mains on 27 December 2026.
• IBPS RRB (Officer Scale I) 2026: Prelims tentatively on 21–22 November 2026.
• SBI PO and SBI Clerk 2026: not yet notified at the time of writing — expected in the coming months.

Railways (RRB) — exams in progress

• RRB NTPC (Graduate level): the CBT 1 result was released on 11 June 2026, with CBT 2 scheduled for 10 July 2026.
• RRB Junior Engineer (JE): CBT 2 is scheduled for 2 July 2026.
• RRB Group D (Level 1): the CBT is expected later in 2026; watch the RRB sites for the confirmed schedule.

Teaching — CTET in September

• CTET (September session) 2026: notified in May 2026, with the exam scheduled for 6 September 2026, conducted by CBSE.
